Three WSOP Bracelets were won on Thursday night, including one by former WSOP Player of the Year Erick Lindgren (his second career bracelet) as well as a 21 year-old WSOP rookie winning bracelet #1 of his career. Here is a quick rundown of the three events that concluded on Thursday-night/Friday-morning.
Event #32: $5k No Limit Holdem 6-Max
Lindgren was just one of a number of top pros at the final table of the prestigious $5k Six-Max tournament (which despite the skill level of the players only featured a single bracelet winner in Lindgren) but the fallen superstar was able to weave his way through the tough field and pickup his second career WSOP bracelet and over $600k in prize-money.
A total of 516 players registered for the tournament, making this one of the largest prize-pools of the year at the WSOP. Here is a look at the final table payouts from the tournament:
- Erick Lindgren – $606,317
- Lee Markholt – $374,960
- Jonathan Little – $238,833
- Connor Drinan – $157,274
- Vasile Buboi – $106,830
- Ryan D’Angelo – $74,768
Event #33: $2,500 Razz
When Event #333 reached heads-up play it was a WSOP rookie who would take on a WSOP veteran for the coveted bracelet, and this time around it was the youngster who would dispatch the veteran as Bryan Campanello defeated David Bach for the Razz title.
The tournament drew a decent field of 301 runners, generating a total prize-pool of $684,855. Here is a look at the final table payouts from the event:
- Bryan Campanello - $178,052
- David Bach - $110,098
- James Wheatley - $72,346
- Sebastian Pauli - $52,844
- Ivan Schertzer - $39,128
- Brent Keller – $29,369
- Rick Fuller – $22,351
- Ismael Bojang – $17,235
Event #34: $1,000 No Limit Holdem Turbo
The first Turbo tournament in the history of the WSOP wrapped up on Thursday, and true to the schedule the tournament took only two days to complete, despite drawing over 1,600 entrants. Compared to other $1k tournaments at the WSOP the Turbo format was definitely a disappointment considering the attendance, but considering it played-out in 2/3 the timed of a typical event the WSOP may bring it back in future years.
The only really big name at the final table of this event was Triple Crown winner Jake Cody, who was eliminated in 7th place. Here is a look at the final table payouts from the tournament:
- Michael Gathy — $278,613
- Benjamin Reason — $172,252
- Yueqi “Rich” Zhu – $113,358
- Sergey Rybachenko – $81,720
- Daniel Bishop — $59,816
- Jason Duval — $44,422
- Jake Cody — $33,456
- Noah Vaillancourt — $25,539
- Russell Crane — $19,748
