A look back at Day 28 of the 2011 WSOP: The day the 10-Level Rule took over

Monday was the day the 10-Level Rule at the 2011 World Series of Poker truly let its presence be felt and likely spelled the end of the line for shameful rule looking ahead to the 2012 WSOP. Two tournaments were called to a halt during heads-up and will have to be completed on Tuesday.
Event #42: $10,000 PLO Championship, Day 4
The $10k PLO Championship was another event that needed an extra day to be completed, and yesterday we saw Ben Lamb win his first WSOP bracelet after defeating Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro in heads-up action to claim the title. Lamb just missed winning a bracelet in the $3k PLO tournament where he finished second.

Event #43: $1,500 No Limit Holdem, Day 3
Three days was not enough to crown a champion in Event #43, as two of poker’s young guns were forced to wait until Tuesday to determine the winner. Brazilian poker pro Andre Akkari will have a lot of work to do to overtake online pro Nachman Berlin if he wants to win the title.

Event #44: $2,500 Razz, Day 3
Not even a Razz tournament could escape the WSOP Hard-Stop Rule, and once again a tournament was halted with just two players remaining. On Tuesday Stephen Su and Rep Porter will return to the Rio, with both players seeking their first WSOP bracelet.

Event #45: $1,000 No Limit Holdem, Day 2
With 21 players remaining we have a few big names still alive in the tournament, most notably Antonio Esfandiari who is currently sitting in 4th place on the leader-board. Joining Esfandiari representing the pros will be David Baker and Andrew Teng.

Event #46: $10,000 No Limit Holdem 6-Max Championship, Day 1
With 474 total entries the $10k NLHE 6-Max Championship will be crowning not only a WSOP bracelet winner, but also creating an instant millionaire as the first-place prize-money is in excess of $1,000,000 - the biggest amount thus far at the 2011 WSOP.

Event #47: $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card-Stud hi/lo, Day 1
The other tournament getting underway on Monday is the hi/lo split tournament featuring a mix of Omaha 8 or better and Seven-Card-Stud hi/lo 8 or better. With the specialists out in full force a total of 450 players registered for the event, and by the end of the day the field saw just over 50% of the players eliminated, leaving 201 playwrs to return on Tuesday.
