Last week an email was sent out to the members of the popular online poker site, Doyle’s Room announcing sweeping changes would be occurring soon. What those changes are, is still a mystery but the word is a new software provider is part of the plan. Not only that but, those changes are expected to take place in the next week or so.
Currently, the Microgaming Network is home for Doyle’s Room along with Poker Host, Unibet, Gnuf and Eurolinx. In November the network stopped accepting customers from the United States though previously Microgaming withdrew from Kentucky only due to legal action which is pending involving the seizure and possible forfeiture of their domain name.
A response via email after an inquiry into the possible switch read, “The new software will be in effect in one week (or few days more). The new software provider’s information is not available yet for the public.” Rumors are beginning to surface that the Cake Poker Network may be Doyle’s Room’s new home since they allow US players though no confirmation has been made by Cake Poker or Doyle’s Room reps.
A move by Doyle’s Room to a new network is not a big surprise and seems to be part of a trend of switch ups in the industry as of late. Poker rooms on the CryptoLogic Network will be absorbed by the Boss Network sometime by the end of the first quarter of 2009. Classic Poker, William Hill and Betsafe will all be moving from CryptoLogic Network in early 2009 as well.
