Daniel Negreanu doubles down on Full Tilt comments

In his first Video Blog (VBlog) Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu covered a variety of topics including his friend Jason Somerville’s decision to come out as a gay poker player (the first male to do so), his upcoming travels in the world of poker (which includes Brazil and Dublin, Ireland), his thoughts on Valentine’s Day, and even his recent physical, but perhaps the most controversial remarks of the VBlog were reserved for Full Tilt Poker owners Ray Bitar, Howard Lederer, and Chris Ferguson.

Negreanu began his Full Tilt remarks a week or so ago in an interview with pokerplayer.co.uk. He then went on to clarify his feelings for the trio of Full Tilt Poker owners in his own blog post on FullContactPoker.com, where he slammed the Full Tilt owners, saying they needed an “old-school Vegas-style, baseball bat to the groin.”

Here is a look at the pertinent paragraph from Daniel’s blog:

“They [pokerplayer.co.uk] edited down my comments about Ray Bitar, Howard Lederer, and Chris Ferguson, but they definitely got the gist of my vitriol towards them. I’m disgusted by them and what they’ve done to smear the game with putrid decision making. Ray is a buffoon, Howard is arrogant, condescending, and incompetent, and Chris is a liar and has the warmth of a snow pea. These were never my friends, I never cared for any of them. I never trusted them for a second, and my “read” was always that these were not my kind of people. Why are they different from the rest of the group? These three were on the board, admittedly making all the decisions, and jeopardizing millions of dollars worth of players money that still hasn’t surfaced. You guys suck. I hope to never see any of your faces at the WSOP anymore, and I hope you live with the shame you deserve for the rest of your lives. Your own personal, private hell. You deserve all the wrath you’ve received from the poker world, and much more. You are scum and each of you absolutely deserves a few swift baseball bat swings to the groin area, old school Vegas style.”

In the Video Blog he just released Negreanu didn’t try to walk back those comments, instead he doubled-down, and perhaps went even farther in his criticisms for Howard, Chris, and Ray; repeatedly calling them scumbags, shameful little weasels, and saying they deserve to bed in jail with “large” cellmates. Negreanu even repeated his thoughts on whether or not someone should hypothetically “bash these guys in the nuts with a baseball bat.”

In atongue-in-cheek manner Negreanu also used one of Full Tilt Poker’s own advertising campaigns in his tirade, saying he, and many other players, would love to “Chat with the pros” of Full Tilt Poker -Full Tilt Poker’s main ad campaign was of course “Play and chat with the Pros at Full Tilt Poker.”Negreanu repeatedly asked, “Where are you now?” Daniel went on to say that nobody in the poker world can find them “to chat with them” because they are hiding out.

During his rant Negreanu did ask one very important question, “Did you know that your company was insolvent when you were accepting deposits from Europe and the rest of the world after Black Friday?” A very important question that many people would like to have an answer to; Negreanu ended up answering the question himself, saying that he is certain they knew.
