Day 2 From Borgata Winter Poker Open

The field at the $3,000 Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship has been narrowed down to the final 172, a mere 72 spots from the money.  Both starting days experienced huge turn outs, much more than originally anticipated with 438 players on Day 1A and 579 players on Day 1B for a total starting field of 1017 players.  After both starting days were completed 710 players were left standing and despite the large amount of starting chips (50,000) and long, slow structures in play (75 minutes), the field managed to narrow itself down to a more manageable size in a surprising amount of time. 

There is a good number of well known poker players still left in the hunt including John Myung (125,000), Esther Taylor (167,500), "Captain" Tom Franklin (64,500), Jason Young (173,500), James ‘jcamby33" Campbell (185.500), Chris Bell (187,000), Matt Brady (221,000), Paul Spitzberg (235,500), Gordon Eng (242,000), Bill Edler (276,000), John Racener (318,500), Charles Marchese (393,500), David "dpeters17" Peters (449,000), Ryan "ryanbluf" Karp (521,500), Steven Levy (528,500), Mark "Dipthr0ng" Herm (595,500) and Joe "hoodini10" Udine (605,500).

Play was set to get under way again today at 11am EST and continue until 27 players remain.  Below is the list of the top 10 players in chip stacks:
