Full Tilt,Poker Stars and Caesars Offer Chance at NBC Spot

Would you like a chance to play for a $500,000 first prize against only 63 other players for free?  Admittedly, the field of players you’ll be up against will be one of the toughest around but a freeroll for a half million dollars is enough to encourage anyone to take the chance.

A Las Vegas casino and two of the world’s most popular poker sites are giving players a once in a lifetime chance at freerolls into NBC’s fifth annual National Heads Up Poker Championship.  Caesars is scheduled to run its freeroll on February 22 at 11am local time.  For players to qualify, they will need to log at least 40 hours of live action in the Poker Room between January 1-31 which is 10 hours less than the 50 hours that was originally on the Caesar’s website.

The players who qualify for the Caesars freeroll will then compete in a multi table tournament until there are 64 players remaining.  Play will then switch to a heads up bracket tournament structure where they will compete until there is only one player left standing.  The top 32 players will be in the money, first place will receive $10,000 cash and a seat into the NBC championship which is valued at $20,000.  Second place takes home $7,500, third and fourth gets $6,250 each, fifth through eighth wins $3,500, ninth through 16th takes home $2,500 and 17th through 32nd gets $1,000.

Poker Stars will be giving away its two seats at a championship freeroll on February 22 in its tournament starting at 3 pm EST.  To play in the event, players will need to finish at the top of two other tournaments.  The site has been running freerolls every day since December 20.  You must win a Round 1 tournament then be in the top 56 of Round 2 to make the Grand Final.  The Grand Final will award the final two players a $21,000 plus prize package that will include the NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship seat, $1,000 travel expenses and up to four nights hotel accommodations at Caesars.

Full Tilt is also giving away two seats to the NBC event.  It has daily Round 1 heads up shootouts, weekly Round 2 freerolls until Feb 21 and a final championship qualifier on February 22 at 4:35 pm EST.  One seat has already been awarded in a January 4 freeroll.  The site says its prize packages are worth approximately $22,000.
