Senator Glenn McConnell wants his fellowmen to experience a higher form of freedom by legalizing poker and other gambling games in every home of South Carolina. Luckily, this bill, known as the Senate Bill 535, is largely supported by the House and Senate.
In same leaf, McConell chooses to update the 1802 law that strongly prohibits any gambling games, even Monopoly. The proposal is not subject to encourage people into gambling. The proposed bill is only limited to legalization of friendly gambling games at home and not involving bets or fund. For those fundraising charitable institutions only those in fraternal establishments, religious sectors and non-profit organizations are allowed to play casino games with bets
To McConnell, the government has no prerogative to control what people want to play at their kitchen table for entertainment. He also calls the 1802 law as antiquated.
