If you don’t know who Andrew Lichtenberger is perhaps you know him better as the online poker phenom LuckyChewy. In addition to tearing up the online poker tables, and lately the live tournament circuit, Lichtenberger is an instructor at the online poker training site Leggo Poker, as well as being a member of Team Full Tilt.
Lichtenberger was born on September 27th, 1987 in the town of East Northport, New York. The now 23 year-old poker pro makes his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, a city he has very fond memories of thanks to his impressive 2009 World Series of Poker run (but more on that later!).
After a rough go where Lichtenberger found himself no better than a break-even poker player, he started improving at the poker tables, which he gives credit for to 2+2 and PokerTracker; Lichtenberger started taking the game very seriously, and was part of a group of young Internet Poker Pros who took the online poker world by storm. Lichtenberger’s crew included such notable players as Aaron “AEJones” Jones, Dani “Ansky” Stern, and the now somewhat retired Steven “Zugwat” Silverman.
After making a name for himself in the small and mid-stakes No Limit Holdem Games online, luckychewy has graduated to the $25/$50 level, and plans to keep improving until he can be a $50/$100 NLHE regular. Lichtenberger’s style is best described as aggressive and fearless, and he constantly puts pressure on his opponents.
Lichtenberger is a highly respected player by virtually all of his peers, and has been able to seamlessly bridge the gap between the online poker world and the live poker world -something many online Poker Pros have struggled with.
Lichtenberger has also had a number of big scores on the live poker tournament trail. Here is just a sample of luckychewy’s live successes:
- Over $1.2 million in career tournament winnings
- Runner-up in the $5k No Limit Holdem Shootout at the 2009 WSOP for $215k
- 18th place in the 2009 WSOP Main Event for $500k
- A total of 5 cashes at the 2009 WSOP
- Won the $5k Main Event at the WSOP Circuit Series at Caesar’s Palace for $190k
- Won the $3k Preliminary NLHE tournament at the PokerStars NAPT Los Angeles
Currently, luckychewy has produced 34 poker training videos for Leggo Poker, and despite his success at the live and online poker tables he is still actively part of the Leggo Poker community, producing at least one poker training video per month.
Lichtenberger is also an in-demand private coach, although the going rate to retain his services is a bit more than the going rate for a Leggo Poker membership: $1,000 per hour compared to $30 per month for a Leggo Poker subscription.
Leggo Poker also features top Poker Pros Aaron “aejones” Jones, Ashton “TheAshman103″ Griffin, Richard “nutsinho” Lyndaker, James “JamesMa” Ma, as well as former instructors Rob “bobbofitos” Eckstut and Ben “BoyWonder” Eliass on their roster.
