Poker Tournament Raises $111,000 for a Cause

Sponsored by Curtis & Co. Watches, a charity poker tournament was held for the first time at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Jennifer Harman of Full Tilt advocated the said tournament and all funds raised would be donated to National Kidney Foundation.
Various honorable people from poker and sports industry attended the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS), which was immediately followed by Full Tilt Throw Down Party. Lon McEachern (ESPN Poker Commentator, Howard Lederer (Profesor of Poker), Matt Savage (Tournament Director), Doug lee and Michael Brown of NBA, Jeff Brushie of X Games and the MIT Blackjack Team (Andy Bloch and Tiffany Michelle) were one of the attendees.
The team from Atlantis Casino won the Full Tilt Throw Down competition while William Roberts of Reno was hailed as the big winner of the tournament. He brought home a crystal trophy worth $ 5000 and grabbed a chance to participate in Reno World Poker Challenge.
“It’s always great to play poker for a good cause. I was just glad to be a part of it. Jennifer did a great job and everyone had a blast,” he said.
The tournament raised $ 111,000 for National Kidney Foundation and Harman decided to continue her poker-for-a-cause tournament at Las Vegas on 17th of April this year to support the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
