Just before the holidays a number of poker players were officially announced as members of the ever-growing roster at IveyPoker.com. While, no signing will never supplant Phil Ivey as the face of his eponymously named site, the training/social-media poker website is putting together one of the finest collections of poker talent, and is even beginning to rival PokerStars in terms of quantity and quality.
The latest additions to the website came in three announcements: The first announcement (which we brought you just days ago) saw seven new names added to the roster, including 2011 November Niner Matt Giannetti, as well as tournament regulars David Peters and Josh Brikis. Rounding out the announced signings were Jonathan Tamayo, Gillian Epp, John Eames, and Balazs Botond. The second announcement came just before Christmas weekend, and added one of poker’s best tournament talents to the roster in the form of Mike Leah, a prodigious talent in both live and online tournaments. The final announcement saw three more players added, Matias Gabrenja, Justin Pechie and Alex Bolotin.
The IveyPoekr.com roster now has a very international feeling to it with players like Balazs Botond, James Dempsey, John Eames, Gillian Epp, Mike Leah, and Matias Gabrenja, although it looks as if the US will be the primary market for the site based on the overall players signed.
The IveyPoker.com roster currently has 14 players, and that number is expected to grow as the site has been making a number of announcements in recent weeks, leading up to its early 2013 projected launch. Here is a look at the current roster at IveyPoker.com:
- Phil Ivey – USA
- Patrik Antonius – Finland
- Jennifer Harman – USA
- Greg Merson – USA
- Cole South – USA
- James Dempsey – UK
- Josh Brikis – USA
- Jonathan Tamayo – USA
- Gillian Epp – Canada
- Matt Giannetti – USA
- John Eames – UK
- David Peters – USA
- Balazs Botond – Hungary
- Mike Leah – Canada
- Matias Gabrenja — Argentina
- Justin Pechie — USA
- Alex Bolotin — USA
The site itself has also continued to develop recently, adding sub-pages and a slew of new content, adding biographies and tournament results for the IveyPoker.com pros. The bios are extensive, with each pro having their own page which can be selected from a drop-down menu on the home-page. The site also features social media and news feeds regarding IveyPoker.com, as well as a sign-up form for the IveyPoker.com newsletter. IveyPoker will likely be one of the most talked about happenings in early 2013 as the poker world clamors to see what the site is all about –considering Phil Ivey has never been one to lend his name or promote projects in the past.
