Full Tilt Poker is upping the ante in an effort to expand their marketing efforts to Sweden by adding up and coming poker superstar Michael Tureniec to their line up of Full Tilt Pros. Tureniec is the first Swede to be signed by Full Tilt though he joins an elite group of Europeans including Jens Voertmann (Germany), Sigi Stockinger (Austria), Claudio Rinaldi (Switzerland), Soren Kongsgaard (Denmark), Nikolay Evdakov (Russia), Alessio Isaia (Italy) and Trond Erik Eidsvig (Norway) among others.
Tureniec had three well placed cashes in the summer of 2007 before he really made his mark. He made the final table at the European Poker Tour Copenhagen then finished runner up at the European Poker Tour London for over $700,000. One short month later, he won an event at the Master Classics of Poker for just over $200,000. More recently, he placed deep at the Aussie Million main event, finishing in 19th place.
The 23 year old hails from Solna, Sweden and has been playing poker since his friends taught him the game in 2003. He then turned pro in 2006 when it became a reality that he could support himself by playing poker. Tureniec is a self taught poker pro who has paid his dues online where he has added over a half million dollars in addition to his impressive tournament earnings.
