Three bracelets awarded Thursday at the WSOP

It was a busy day at the World Series of Poker on Thursday. In addition to the tow tournaments that were scheduled to play down to a champion the WSOP had a little bit of spillover from the $5k Omaha 8 or better tournament as Scotty Nguyen and Joe Cassidy needed a fourth day to determine the champion of the event.

Here is a look at the three bracelets handed out on Thursday at the 2012 WSOP:

Event #24: $5,000 Omaha 8 or better

If you’re going to win your first bracelet after nearly 10 years in the game you might as well dispatch arguably the best player in the world in Phil Ivey and the 1998 WSOP Main Event, and five-time bracelet winner, Scotty Nguyen along the way –which is precisely what longtime poker pro Joe Cassidy sis on his way to his first live tournament win.

Here is a look at the final table payouts from the tournament:

Event #25: $1,500 Limit Shootout

A star-studded field produced a star-studded final table chock-full of Limit Holdem specialists. In the end it was Brian Meinders who would take home the top prize and the coveted WSOP bracelet. Among the players who made the final table were Brock Parker, Victor Ramdin, Sean Rice, and Matthew Schreiber.

Event #26: $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha

Another very tough final table competed for the final bracelet awarded on Thursday, and in the end it was Austin Scott who would defeat such well-known poker players as Brett Richey, Tom “LearnedFromTV” Chambers, Scott Stanko, Dutch Boyd, and Thomas Pettersen.
