When it comes to poker, Las Vegas Nevada is THE PLACE to be. Even though the genesis of poker happened along the Mississippi River some hundred years before poker came to the Nevada desert, and Texas can lay claim to creating Texas Holdem, Vegas is still the poker capital of the world!
With Dozens of casinos competing for your poker business here is a list of the must-visit spots in Sin City, as well as a full list of Las Vegas’ poker rooms.
Bellagio
With 39 poker tables -with plenty of room, and chairs that you could fall asleep in– the Bellagio Hotel and Casino is one of the largest, and most luxurious, poker-rooms in Las Vegas. But the real reason to check out the Bellagio is the high-stakes action. In the exclusive high-rollers area, known as Bobby’s Room, you can see the best players in the poker world battle it out.
Wynn
One of the newest casinos on the Strip, the Wynn’s 26 poker tables in the high-class poker area were designed to compete with the Bellagio. The Ace-in-the-Hole for the Wynn is the exclusive contract they drew up with Daniel Negreanu.
Mirage
Prior to the Bellagio yanking away the title of “The Poker Room in Vegas” that honor belonged to the Mirage. While still a poker hot-spot, the Mirage has cut back on the number of poker tables -dropping down to 20. For poker enthusiasts, The Mirage is still a must-visit poker-room due to the nostalgia of the games that have taken place there over the years.
Caesar’s Palace
Not as well known as the poker rooms at Bellagio, The Mirage, or Binions, Caesar’s Palace has always offered poker players a very elegant poker-room. The Caesar’s poker-room currently boasts 29 tables, making it one of the larger poker-rooms in Las Vegas.
Venetian
The Venetian is another one of the new high-class poker-rooms in Las Vegas, and with 50 poker tables is the largest in Las Vegas. Players should stop by the Venetian just so they can catch a glimpse of one of the most beautiful poker-rooms in the world.
Binion’s
The games at Binion’s Horseshoe may have dried up over the years -now you’ll run into mostly local low-limit grinders at their 10 poker tables– but the nostalgia is still there: After all, this was the home of the World Series of Poker, and the location of some of the most memorable hands in poker history!
Golden Nugget
If Binion’s was known for the WSOP the Nugget was the place for high-stakes cash games for many years. The Golden Nugget still boasts 13 poker tables, and is a great stop for poker historians.
