Who is playing in the Party Poker Premier League VI

One of the biggest tournaments of the year is also one of the most exclusive, the Party Poker Premier League. This year will mark the sixth Party Poker Premier League, and will once again feature 16 players each posting a $125,000 buy-in to play in the invite-only tournament. The full roster is not quite complete, but we do know who will be sitting in 13 of the 16 spots, and as is the modus operandi of the event one of the spots will be filled by an amateur/qualifier from the Party Poker website.

Here is a look at the 13 players who have reserved their spot in the Party Poker Premier League VI:

  • Scott Seiver – The 2012 Party Poker Premier League V Champion will be back to defend his crown.
  • Sam Trickett – One of the top tournament players of the past couple years, the Brit is already challenging for the #1 spot on the all-time money list despite still being in his mid-20’s!
  • Phil Hellmuth – One of the most colorful and accomplished players in poker.
  • Dan Shak – a High-Roller staple, the hedge-fund manager turned poker pro also recently signed a sponsorship deal with IveyPoker.com.
  • Tony G – What televised event is complete without a little Tony G?
  • Daniel Negreanu – Perhaps the best-known poker player in the world, the face of PokerStars will be returning to the Premier League tables for the first time in a few years.
  • Phil Laak – The always entertaining poker pro will be in attendance along with his good friend Antonio Esfandiari and his girlfriend Jennifer Tilly.
  • Jennifer Tilly – After keeping her poker skills on the down-low recently, this will be the first major tournament appearance for Tilly in quite some time.
  • Antonio Esfandiari – The One Drop winner, Antonio was one of the most successful players in poker throughout 2012.
  • Daniel Cates – Considered by many to be the best Heads-Up cash-game player in the world, Jungleman is still trying to prove he can compete with the big boys in tournaments.
  • Luke Schwartz – a brash-talking Internet wunderkind, Schwartz is a staple at the Premier League.
  • Jonathan Duhamel – the 2010 WSOP Main Event Champion is still trying to break into the upper crust of the poker world and seems to still have designs on leading poker into the next era.
  • Marvin Rettenmaier – One of the top young players in poker, the Party Poker pro cemented himself in the upper echelon of tournament players last year with back-to-back WPT wins.
