In this series I will take a look at the backgrounds and resumes’ of the nine poker players who managed to weave through, and outlast 7,310 opponents, and make it to the final table of the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event.
The final table for the 2010 WSOP will reconvene on November 9th where the remaining nine players will play down to just two, who will then return the following day, November 10th, to declare the 2010 WSOP Champion.
The nine remaining players are:
- Jonathan Duhamel - 65,975,000 chips
- John Dolan - 46,250,000 chips
- Joseph Cheong - 23,525,000 chips
- John Racener - 19,050,000 chips
- Matthew Jarvis - 16,700,000 chips
- Fillipo Candio - 16,400,000 chips
- Mike Mizrachi - 14,450,000 chips
- Soi Nguyen - 9,650,000 chips
- Jason Senti - 7,625,000 chips
Dolan was the only player able to keep pace with chip-leader Jonathan Duhamel, and even still he faces a nearly 20 million chip deficit. The Florida native made his first live tournament cash back in 2007 at the World Series of Poker in the $500 Casino Employees Event -which seems to be a breeding ground for Poker Pros over the last few years. Since then Dolan has racked up four more cashes at the WSOP, including an $82,804 score for finishing 6th in one of this year’s $1,000 No Limit Holdem Tournaments.
Dolan has also been travelling the tournament trail the past few years and has cashed in tournaments from Biloxi, to Connecticut: In all Dolan has earned $216,556 in live tournament earnings.
Dolan is another unsponsored player at the final table, although he sported a Poker Players Alliance patch throughout the tournament, for the November Nine picture Dolan donned a Full Tilt Poker hat and shirt patch. No word yet if the second largest poker site has scooped up the second largest chip-stack! With the WSOP rule that only three players can wear a site’s logo it’s unclear which of the seven players who wore Full Tilt Poker logs for the picture will wear them in November -although Mike “The Grinder” Mizrachi would seem to be a lock, as well as John Racener for both his chip-stack, currently in 4th overall, and experience.
On the other hand, Full Tilt’s chief rival, PokerStars, has two of the most coveted players left in the field; top online poker pro Jason Senti and chip-leader Jonathan Duhamel, representing the site. So it would seem that PokerStars will be looking to add just one more player to their roster of sponsored players, and they are probably leaning towards either Dolan or Joseph Cheong, not only for their chip-stacks, but they are also two of the more experienced players at the final table.
