EPT Copenhagen Kicks off Today

The next stop on the Poker Stars European Poker Tour season four is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Casino Copenhagen. The €6,700 no limit hold’em main event gets under way on Tuesday, February 17 at noon CET or 3am PST. This year the cap on the players field has been increased to 500 people after last year’s event sold out at 460 players. With the larger number of players, the amount of the prize pool is also expected to increase from last year’s $4,111,848 as well. The Copenhagen event last year attracted some of poker’s biggest pros and this year is to be no different. Some of last year’s pros included Jan Sorenson (13th), Ed De Haas (16th), Gina Alacqua (19th), Luca Pagano (27th), Rolf Slotboom (31st), Peter Eastgate (32nd), Alex Kravchenko (36th) and Trond Erik Eidsvig (37th).
The tournament is following the standard European Poker Tour structure, which means that players begin play with 10,000 in chips and blinds will start at 25-50 and levels will last 60 minutes. Below is a look at the schedule for the European Poker Tour Copenhagen event:
Tuesday, Feb. 17: Day 1A – eight levels (all tournament days begin at noon)
Wednesday, Feb. 18: Day 1B – eight levels
Thursday, Feb. 19: Day 2 – eight levels or down to 32 players
Friday, Feb. 20: Day 3 – down to final table of eight players
Saturday, Feb. 21: final table
